The LN-EIR850-2 LED IR Illuminator 450mW by Luna Optics is an extremely powerful 850nm infrared amplifier that you can use with all Luna Optics digital night vision devices (and any other night vision equipment with a 1/4" threaded connection). The IR illuminator features full X/Y adjustment, flood/focus mode and freely adjustable intensity. The LN-EIR850-2 ensures:

• a significant increase in viewing distance
• an increasing accuracy in identifying objects
• a much better recognition of the smallest details
• effective distance with Gen-2 up to 300m
• effective distance with Gen-3 up to 500m

The infrared beam has a wavelength of 850nm. This type of IR Illuminator provides the widest range, although it also means that the infrared 'glow' is visible when looking directly into the IR source. The angle of the infrared beam is freely adjustable from 3 degrees (focus) to 6 degrees (flood). This allows you to 'illuminate' a larger or smaller area of the environment. The device also has a full X and Y axis setting, to make sure that the infrared beam is exactly in the center of the field of view. You can also determine the intensity from 0.5mW to 450mW.

With the included adapter you can easily attach the IR Illuminator to the 1/4" thread of your nightvision monocular or binocular. All digital night vision devices from Luna Optics (see optional accessories) have multiple 1/4" connections, making it possible to connect the infrared amplifier while placing the Luna Optics night vision scope on a tripod. The minimum runtime with one CR123A battery is at least three hours (measured at continuous full power).

This infrared illuminator is an indispensable tool for the demanding user who wants to be able to see the smallest details in the dark, or wants to increase their viewing distance even further. The LN-EIR850-2 is an effective accessory for every nocturnal walk or survival trip as well as for hunters shooting at greater distances. Professional applications include law enforcement, security and rescue.

There are two types of infrared amplifiers available with a wavelength of 850nm or 940nm. As a rule of thumb you could say:

• aim for a 850nm infrared illuminator if you want to have the widest range
• aim for a 940nm infrared illuminator if the infrared beam must be absolutely invisible at any distance (see optional accessories)
