Description
An ideal tripod combines high stability with low weight and easy operation – using as few clamps and screws as possible. The Celestron Regal tripod was designed with exactly these requirements in mind. Weighing under 3 kg, it remains highly portable and compact when folded, yet it can reliably support equipment up to 4 kg.
The Regal tripod features a 2-way fluid head. The long control handle ensures smooth and comfortable operation, while two adjustment knobs on the side allow precise control of the pan and tilt resistance. The quick-release plate with standard 1/4" photo thread enables fast and secure mounting of spotting scopes, binoculars, cameras, or smaller telescopes. It also allows optimal balancing of the mounted equipment. An integrated safety mechanism prevents the plate from accidentally sliding out unless the safety button is pressed.
The height-adjustable aluminum legs consist of four sections and can be easily adjusted using practical locking clamps. This ensures stable and level positioning even on uneven terrain. Additionally, each leg can be locked at three different angles – ideal for steep slopes or significant height differences in the field.
With the center column fully extended, the tripod reaches a height of nearly 1.75 m; without extending it, the working height is approximately 1.5 m. The center column also features a retractable hook at the bottom, allowing additional weight to be attached for increased stability. This is especially useful in windy conditions – simply hang your backpack or camera bag on the hook to noticeably improve stability. When not in use, the hook can be neatly stored inside the center column.
Two legs are equipped with padded grips for comfortable handling in cold weather and for easy carrying over the shoulder. The tripod feet feature twist-out rubber covers that conceal metal spikes underneath for improved grip on uneven terrain. This allows quick switching between rubber feet and spikes depending on the surface.
Additional features include two integrated bubble levels – one on the tripod and one on the head – as well as a practical carrying bag for secure storage and convenient transport.
