Regal ED 10x42 Roof Prism Binoculars
The Regal ED Flat Field binoculars expand the successful Regal ED series with premium roof prism models featuring ED objective lenses and integrated field-flattener optics. They offer an exceptionally wide, edge-to-edge sharp field of view and outstanding color fidelity.
As premium models among Celestron’s high-performance binoculars, the Regal ED Flat Field series was specifically developed for demanding users – especially birdwatchers. They deliver brilliant, color-neutral images with high detail resolution, a wide field of view for quickly locating and tracking moving subjects, and a close focus of just 1.5 m. This makes them equally suitable for many other observation applications.
ED Objective Lenses
The Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass used in the objectives virtually eliminates chromatic aberration. The color fringing often visible in many binoculars is significantly reduced, resulting in exceptional sharpness and accurate color reproduction.
Not all ED glass is the same: the high-quality material used by Celestron produces noticeably brighter, higher-contrast, and sharper images compared to standard optics – especially in challenging lighting conditions such as at dusk.

Flat-Field Technology
In addition to ED glass, the Regal models feature optical flat-field technology. This compensates for the natural field curvature of conventional lens systems and ensures a flat image with consistent sharpness all the way to the edge of the field of view.
Coatings and Prisms
The optics are fully multi-coated, meaning that every air-to-glass surface is treated with multiple anti-reflection coatings to minimize reflections and maximize light transmission.
The high-quality BaK-4 prisms are both phase-corrected and dielectric-coated. This further enhances light transmission and, in combination with the multi-coating, produces an exceptionally bright, high-contrast, and detailed image. The ED objective lenses further improve performance, particularly in low-light conditions.
Durable Housing
The ergonomically shaped housing is made from a lightweight yet extremely durable magnesium alloy. It is waterproof and nitrogen-filled to reliably prevent internal fogging of the lenses. The Regal ED is therefore perfectly suited for demanding weather and environmental conditions.
Thanks to the sturdy multi-click twist-up eyecups, viewing is comfortable both with and without glasses. The different click-stop positions allow individual adjustment of the eye relief.
Versatile Applications
With a close focus of approximately 1.5 m, the Regal ED 10x42 is ideal for observing birds, insects, plants, and other nearby objects. The 10x magnification also enables detailed observations at greater distances. The wide field of view makes it easy to quickly locate and track moving subjects.
Comfort and Accessories
Included in the package are a padded neck strap and a comfortable harness strap. The binoculars also feature an integrated tripod adapter for extended observation sessions or digiscoping (90° tripod adapter sold separately).
A one-piece eyepiece cover protects the ocular lenses from dust and moisture during transport and storage. The accessories are complemented by a high-quality hard case for secure storage.
