- Motor control includes multiple speeds, automatic GoTo approach, saved positions and focuser backlash compensation.
- The Focuser Utility software for Windows offers a simple user interface. Also compatible with Celestron PWI. Allows autofocusing with a third party camera and software via ASCOM. The motor can automatically return to a previously saved focus position and prevents the focus motor from reaching the end of the telescope's mechanical focus travel.

Description
Focusing Motor for SCT & EdgeHD provides motorized focusing for Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain (SCT) and EdgeHD With the focusing motor installed, you can focus on celestial objects using your telescope's hand control or a computer instead of the focus knob for precise focusing. A focus motor is ideal for visual observers who want to set the focus precisely and is a must for astrophotographers. They do not have to touch the telescope, thus avoiding vibration. With a motor focuser installed, an astrophotographer no longer has to be in the close to the telescope to bring an image into focus.In combination with the computer-aided control of the mount and camera, erm The focus motor makes it possible to collect data remotely from an observatory or even a telescope hundreds of kilometers away. As an added plus, caps protect the ports when not in use, and due to the well thought-out design, they cannot be lost either.
Compatible telescopes
The focusing motor is compatible with all SCTs from 6" to 14" that have been in production since 2006. Not compatible with 5" SCTs or older models.
Compatible with all EdgeHD, the 8" Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph (RASA), the 36cm RASA and the 7" Maksutov-Cassegrain.
The focus motor can also be used with the 11" RASA, but requires the focus motor retrofit kit for 11" RASA.
The focus motor is NOW compatible with the 9.25" EdgeHD.

Power
There are three ways to power your Celestron focus motor to power:
- If you are using a Celestron computer-controlled mount, you can operate and control the focus motor via the mount with the supplied AUX cable. This allows control from the mount's hand control (NexStar+ or StarSense) or a computer.
- If you are not using a Celestron mount, you can power and control the focus motor from a computer's USB port. You also need a cable with USB-B connectors.
- You can also use an external 12V DC power source that is connected to the 12V input of the motor.
Compatible Software
Celestron offers a free Focuser Utility program for control via a PC. The Celestron PWI software can also control the focus motor. To use third-party software, an ASCOM driver is required. If you want to operate the focusing motor with the hand controller, you need at least firmware HC: 5.30.8333 for the NexStar+ and 1.19.19003 for the StarSense hand controller.
