Buteo Photo Gear Lens Cover (Brown) for Buteo Mark III
- Made from 150D Polyester
- Protects against rain and dust
- Fits perfectly in any photo window
Description
The snoot provides additional camouflage for your lens with the same waterproof fabric and camouflage pattern as the tent (150D Polyester) and also offers excellent protection from rain and dust. Another advantage is that your hands are less visible when operating the camera. The snoot fits perfectly in any photo window, can be easily zipped closed, and has its own viewing window with a sturdy mesh insert at the top. This viewing window can be completely or partially closed from the inside and can be adjusted in size with a two-way zipper. The larger insect screen in the tent can be unzipped when using the snoot, but it can also be used with the lens going through it. Additionally, in poor weather, you can use the outer polyester fabric. It has a zipper through which you can insert the lens, and by closing the zipper, you ensure maximum protection for you and your equipment from rainfall (see photos).

Definition: The Water Column of a Tent
The water column indicates the maximum water pressure that a tent fabric can withstand.
A water column of 1,500 mm means that the tent fabric can withstand the pressure
of a 1,500 mm (1.5 meter) high column of water before water penetrates the fabric.
The higher it is, the more waterproof the tent material is.
Waterproofness
The water column is also a unit of measurement to measure the watertightness e.g.
B. of technical fabrics (tents, functional and rainwear).
DIN EN ISO 811:2018
regulates the method for determining the resistance to the penetration of water.
The following “hydrostatic water pressure test” must be carried out: The outside
of the material is exposed to the water. The water pressure starts at zero, the
water column rises by 100 mmWC or 600 mmWC per minute, depending on the standard.
The time is measured until the third drop can be seen on the inside. The pressure
that is acting at this point in time is then given in millimeters of water column.
Top tents are considered waterproof from 1500 mm
and tent floors from 2000 mm according to DIN.
