Description
Sure, a microscope is an optical instrument used to magnify and observe objects that are too small to be seen by the naked eye. It consists of several key parts:
Eyepiece: Also called the ocular lens, this is where the viewer looks through to observe the specimen. It typically provides a magnification of 10x.
Objective Lens: The lens closest to the specimen. Microscopes can have multiple objective lenses with varying magnification powers (e.g., 4x, 10x, 40x, 100x). By rotating different objective lenses into place, the overall magnification of the specimen can be adjusted.
Stage: The platform where the specimen is placed for observation. It often includes clips or other mechanisms to hold the slide in place.
Illumination Source: Light source, such as a bulb, that illuminates the specimen from below (in a compound microscope) or from above (in a stereo microscope).
Focus Knobs: These allow precise focusing of the image by moving the stage or the lenses up and down.
Diaphragm: Controls the amount of light passing through the specimen. It can be adjusted to regulate the contrast and brightness of the image.
Arm: The curved part of the microscope that connects the tube to the base. It provides support and allows for easy handling of the instrument.
This Byomic Junior Microscope Set 40x - 1024x helps you take the first steps on your way into the world of microscopy. The microscope is very sturdy and made of metal and comes in a practical case. With the included USB PC eyepiece and associated software, the microscope can be connected to your computer in no time. This allows you to easily save videos and photos to your computer. You will receive a wide selection of utensils for the microscope, specimens and much more. Compatible with Windows 7/8/10/11. If your computer does not have a CD player, you can download the software here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Dby4vWY4ElDFwGGaWSRYBPdRbZaJvacq
Which light for which preparation?
With this microscope, a reflected light and transmitted light microscope, transparent, semi-transparent and opaque objects can be observed. The image of the respective observation object is “transported” via the light. Therefore, the right lighting determines whether you can see something or not! If you look at opaque objects (e.g. smaller animals, parts of plants, stones, coins, etc.) with this microscope, the light falls on the object you are looking at. From there the light is reflected back and enters the eye through the lens and eyepiece (causing magnification). This is reflected light microscopy. With transparent objects (e.g. single-celled organisms), however, the light shines from below through the opening in the microscope stage and then through the object being observed. The path of the light continues through the lens and eyepiece, where the magnification takes place and finally reaches the eye. This is transmitted light microscopy. Many small creatures in the water, parts of plants and the finest animal components are already transparent by nature. Others still need to be prepared accordingly. Be it by making them transparent by pre-treating or penetrating them with suitable substances (media) or by cutting off the finest slices of them (hand cut, thin section) and then examining them.

Definition: The Water Column of a Tent
The water column indicates the maximum water pressure that a tent fabric can withstand.
A water column of 1,500 mm means that the tent fabric can withstand the pressure
of a 1,500 mm (1.5 meter) high column of water before water penetrates the fabric.
The higher it is, the more waterproof the tent material is.
Waterproofness
The water column is also a unit of measurement to measure the watertightness e.g.
B. of technical fabrics (tents, functional and rainwear).
DIN EN ISO 811:2018
regulates the method for determining the resistance to the penetration of water.
The following “hydrostatic water pressure test” must be carried out: The outside
of the material is exposed to the water. The water pressure starts at zero, the
water column rises by 100 mmWC or 600 mmWC per minute, depending on the standard.
The time is measured until the third drop can be seen on the inside. The pressure
that is acting at this point in time is then given in millimeters of water column.
Top tents are considered waterproof from 1500 mm
and tent floors from 2000 mm according to DIN.
