Chroma Keying
Chroma keying (also color keying) is a visual effect or a post-production technique in which chrominance is used to crop image material. In the context of compositing, this technique is used to exchange backgrounds in photos or videos. To do this, an alpha channel is calculated from a specific color range. The most commonly used colors are green and blue, as their color contrasts significantly with the skin tone.
Green screens and
blue screens are used in television and film productions.
On television, chroma keying is often used in news programs or weather forecasts to incorporate background images and animations. The aim here is often a real-time release (live keying). If, apart from the moderator, almost all visible elements are digitally inserted in a television broadcast, this is referred to as a virtual studio. Such a studio is used, for example, by ZDF or RTL.
Chroma keying is used in film production in order to be able to release actors and elements without great effort. Here, the keying process usually takes place after the fact, in post-production when creating the visual effects.
Advances in technology and computer software, such as Autodesk Smoke, Final Cut Pro, Pinnacle Studio , Adobe After Effects and dozens of other programs make it possible to use chroma key functions even on home computers with affordable green or blue screen packages.
Green screen is suitable for bright daylight shots with less lighting , where sharp outlines and details are not so important. If you want to film a night scene or a scene in a dark environment where sharp outlines are important, then you should use a blue screen.
StudioKing Roll-Up Green Screen FB-150200FG 150x200 cm Chroma Green
The StudioKing FB-150200FG is a 1.5 x 2 meter roll-up backdrop in Chroma Green. This universal, mobile "green screen" is designed to be placed on the floor. Because it's fully collapsible, you can easily fold it down to the size of a tripod bag in no time. Ideal for photo and video shoots on location and in your studio.
A green background screen - or chroma key - is commonly used to filter out the green background and insert a different background. The green cloth is made from 100% polyester and is lustrous and wrinkle-free. Because of this, you always have an even background. The underside is made of stable aluminum. This not only ensures that the background can stand securely, but also that you can safely take it with you. There is an adjustable, spring-loaded X-mount at the back, which allows you to adjust the cloth to the desired height.
When you fully extend the backdrop, the height is 200 cm and the width is 150 cm. When the backdrop is fully folded, you can carry it with you like a suitcase via the handle. This product is also available in other colours.
