Description
As the largest model in the CPC-GPS family, the CPC 1100 GPS collects the most light and reaches stars almost up to the 15th magnitude. This Schmidt-Cassegrain thus makes use of the entire database with thousands of NGC and Abell galaxies, while at the same time revealing new details on known objects. With modern software functions such as the rest position ("Hibernate"), the mount maintains its orientation over many nights without the need to reinitialize it. This makes it ideal for a fixed observatory.
The CPC 1100 GPS XLT is easily transportable thanks to its fork mount and features the StarBright XLT coating. The telescope is perfectly suited for visual observations and, with an optional polar height cradle and a CCD camera, also allows professional astrophotography.
When you point the telescope at the planets, you will see fascinating details on the surface of Jupiter, the Cassini division of Saturn's rings and surface details on Mars. Even Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are within your reach.
Despite its large aperture, the telescope is so portable thanks to its practical carrying handle and weighing about 19 kilograms that you can set it up in your garden just as easily as in your favourite spot under a dark sky.
Professional XLT computerized telescopes
With the CPC series, Celestron brings the most stable fork mounting that has been available in the 40 years of production of Celestron's Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. The completely newly designed tripod and a huge 280 mm ball bearing in the fork base allow vibration-free observation even at the highest magnifications.
Although the azimuthal fork mount is not as variable as the German mount, as it is matched to the tube diameter, it is still possible to use the same mounting. This disadvantage is compensated by compact design, low weight, good transportability and most importantly: an incredibly fast assembly. You are ready for observation in a few minutes. Simply set up the tripod, level it with the built-in circular bubble level, attach the fork mount - and switch on.
