Description

This telescope was developed as the ideal travel telescope. The TravelScope is stable and can withstand rough treatment. It is a quick to use, powerful telescope that will give you pleasure for a long time. The compact and portable design combined with excellent optical performance makes it ideal for terrestrial observation as well as for viewing the sky.

Thanks to its backpack, the Celestron Travelscope 70 is an excellent small travel telescope with an angled field of view, for observing the earth and the sky. The basic equipment also includes a tripod, the image-erecting 45 degree Amici prism, and two eyepieces (20mm for 20x and 10mm eyepiece for 40x magnification). With this basic equipment, the moon and many bright objects such as globular clusters, galaxies and gas nebulae can be observed. The equipment is completed by the important book for beginners "First steps with your Celestron telescope", (German; 82 pages, author: Alexander Kerste).

The Telescope:

Coated lenses of optical glass for clear, sharp images
Amici prism for upright, sideways correct observation
Smooth azimuthal mounting
pre-assembled, large and stable tripod
simple assembly without tools
Maximum transportability: telescope and tripod fit into the special backpack

Solar System Edition

With the special accessory of the "Solar System Version" the possibilities of the telescope are greatly extended, especially to use it during the day in the sun with highest magnification. The following accessories supplement the basic equipment of the TravelScope 70:

A Baader solar filter ASSF 80 with original AstroSolar solar filter foil. This will enable you to use the telescope for the observation of sunspots and solar eclipses
A 4mm Celestron eyepiece with 100x magnification perfectly complements the existing eyepieces and rounds off the set. With this eyepiece you can see Saturn's rings, the cloud strips and moons of Jupiter, the crescent shape of Venus and the polar caps of Mars in sharp focus
